The Genesis of a Dream
The story of THEF began with a simple yet profound dream: to create a world where education is accessible to all. Our founder, driven by personal experiences and a deep understanding of the transformative power of education, envisioned a foundation that would break down barriers and open doors for the underprivileged. What started as a modest effort to help a few children soon blossomed into a full-fledged mission to transform entire communities.
Building a Foundation of Hope
In 2019, Toddlers Haven Foundation was formally established to sustain the free tuition scholarship support for children who became orphaned or fatherless. This initiative, which began unofficially in 2008, was created to support registered children who had lost parents or guardians, as well as indigent children within the school and the immediate community. The first set of official scholarship beneficiaries began benefitting in January 2008, setting the stage for what would become a transformative force in the lives of many young people.
The First Steps
Our journey took a significant turn in 2015 when we adopted our first orphan child at the age of seven. This child, who had lost both parents within two years, became the symbol of our commitment to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for those in need. This milestone marked the beginning of our deliberate and compassionate approach to addressing the needs of children and young people in our communities.
Expanding Our Reach
As the number of children qualifying for our scholarships continued to rise, we realized that external support was essential to keep these children in school and beyond. Our mission evolved to not only provide educational aid but also to support their holistic development. This includes health interventions, social support, and vocational training to ensure that every child in our program can attain their full potential and contribute effectively to society.
